Skład:1 ml roztworu zawiera 100 mg imidaklopridu
Właściwości:Imidakloprid, pochodna imidazolu, jest substancją o działaniu insektobójczym stosowanym do zwalczania pasożytów zewnętrznych. Należy do nowej grupy związków o nazwie chloronikotynyli. Ze względu na swoją budowę chemiczną jest nitroguanidynochloronikotynylem Imidakloprid łączy się trwale z postsynaptycznymi receptorami nikotynowymi układu cholinergicznego, blokuje przewodzenie bodźców nerwowych powodując paraliż i śmierć owadów. Ze względu na barierę krew-mózg, którą imidakloprid przenika tylko w niewielkim stopniu, oraz odmienną budowę receptorów nikotynowych Advantage jest bezpieczny dla ssaków. Obserwuje się dobrą tolerancję na lek nawet po stosowaniu dawek przekraczających 10 razy dawkę terapeutyczną.W przypadku niezgodnego z zaleceniem sposobu przyjęcia leku np. doustnie (przez ludzi i zwierzęta) ryzyko wystąpienia zatrucia jest minimalne. Jeśli wystąpi, przebiegać może z objawami zaburzeń koordynacji ruchowej, drgawkami, drżeniem mięśni i zwolnieniem częstości oddechów.
Po nakropleniu na skórę zwierzęcia preparat w krótkim czasie rozprzestrzenia się po jej powierzchni, działając w sposób kontaktowy. Preparat działa bardzo szybko. Większość pcheł ginie w ciągu pierwszych godzin od zastosowania zanim zdąży ugryźć zwierzę.
Działania niepożądane:Z powodu gorzkiego smaku, może wystąpić u kotów okresowe ślinienie się w przypadku zlizania preparatu z miejsca podania, bezpośrednio po aplikacji.
Dawkowanie:Koty o wadze do 4 kg m.c. - 1 tubka Advantage 0,4 ml / kotaKoty powyżej 4 kg m.c. - 1 tubka Advantage 0,8 ml / kota.
Przed podaniem preparatu należy dokładnie dobrać wielkość opakowania do masy ciała zwierzęcia. Po otwarciu preparatu rozchylić włosy zwierzęcia na grzbiecie między łopatkami i lekko ściskając tubkę zdeponować jej zawartość na skórze pacjenta. Nie wcierać. Unikać bezpośredniego kontaku środka z błonami śluzowymi i oczami.98 - 100% pcheł ginie w ciągu pierwszej doby od zastosowania preparatu. Jednokrotna terapia zabezpiecza zwierzę przed inwazją na okres 4 tygodni.
